Program Highlights
Digital Technology Interns are hired to focus on a particular area of the GE business based on availability of positions, the interviewer's assessment, and the applicant's preference. Focus areas could include but are not limited to Predix/Digital Platforms, Aviation, Healthcare, Renewable Energy, Oil - Gas, Energy Connections, Transportation, and Power.
Digital intern assignments, typically 10 to 12 weeks in length, are dynamic and challenging based on the business needs and the type of work required. Interns have significant exposure to key IT and Software business leaders at GE; as well as a global internship support network to accelerate learning and development. Interns also have extracurricular opportunities to engage in various activities both socially and professionally.

You will help us build highly scalable and resource-efficient algorithms, tools, and frameworks to enable large scale industrial machine learning applications. The intern will be expected to have reasonably strong skills in one area: deep learning (Python), distributed systems (Python), systems - algorithms programming (C++ with templates).
We are seeking individuals with a strong background in computer science and programming who have a passion to build (and learn to build) software tools to support ML and data pipelines in production. At Wise, you will work closely with our top engineering team (including a number of PhDs and core contributors to open-source projects). In the past, some of our interns have stayed on to work with us after the completion of their internships. Some have gone on to work for great companies like Google. Qualifications/Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program at an accredited university or credentialed software accelerator program
- Program of study in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, IT Security, Informatics, Information Science/Technology, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, Security and Risk Analysis, or other relevant STEM majors with Software/IT experience
- Minimum cumulative or in-major 3.0/4.0 GPA or proof of satisfactory performance from software accelerator program
- Graduating between December 2018 – June 2021

- Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in software, IT or relevant area.
- Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom
- A strong commitment to a career in technology and passion/aptitude for both software and information technology
- Strong analytical and technical skills with experience in software industry standards and development tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate clearly
- Demonstrated creative problem solving and proactive learning
- Experience building custom implementations of ML algorithms
- Consulting experience; directly interacting with clients to scope a problem, build a solution, and communicate the results
- Expertise in at least one of the following: computer vision, deep learning, NLP, timeseries data, event data
- Expertise with bigdata tools: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.
