Please Note: In order to be considered for this position, you must be able to obtain an SF86 Position of Trust which is only available to U.S. Citizens. Our Facilities Security Officer will initiate this process post-offer acceptance. Failure to obtain this will result in termination from this role. Evaluate and approve Veterans Benefit Administration (VBA) Order Requests and determine appropriate Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs) to assign for identified health conditions identified on order requests per the contract requirements. Review Compensation - Pension (C-P) request documents and claims file for completion of the claims file outline to facilitate LHI providers in location of pertinent information to ensure timely review and accurate completion of Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs). Communicate with a diverse group of people/disciplines while serving as a point of contact (POC) for internal and external entities. Monitor, manage and prioritize all VA Clinical Operations order related tasks for this role to facilitate controlled workflow to meet or exceed contractual requirements. Primary Responsibilities: Evaluate and approve order requests. Collaborate with Veteran Services and Medical Director regarding difficult Disability Benefit Questionnaire (DBQ) order requests; completion of system generated tasks. Ongoing communication within the VA Clinical Operations Department and other LHI departments to ensure order requests are accurate before approving. Review Compensation - Pension (C-P) request documents and claims file for completion of the claims file outline to facilitate LHI providers in location of pertinent information to ensure timely review and accurate completion of Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs). Willingness to assist with provider questions via a department phone queue. Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: High School Diploma / GED Medical Assistant, LPN, Health Information Technology (HIT), EMT, Medic, Corpsman, or completion of the Clinical Upskilling course or completion of the following 4 courses: Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Human Body Systems, and Common Diseases Comfortable working an 8-10-hour shift between hours of 8:00am-8:00pm Monday-Saturday with the possibility of overtime, depending on business needs Ability to identify lab results and ancillary services Experience using a computer and Microsoft Office (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook) to create, copy, edit, send, and save documents United States Citizenship Ability to obtain favorable adjudication following submission of Defense Health Agency eQuip Form SF86 Preferred Qualifications: Military experience Knowledge / experience with traumatic brain injuries and neuropsychological testing National Career Readiness Certificate Knowledge and understanding of CPT and ICD 9/10 coding Careers with Optum.
