Position Summary
The
Manager, Healthcare Professional Education and Training will be responsible for developing and executing a healthcare professional (HCP) medical education and training strategy for Insulet's pipeline products including Omnipod DASH, the Omnipod Horizon Automated Glucose Control system, the Omnipod U500 and U200 Insulin Management Systems and other upstream products as well as ongoing education for the Omnipod Insulin Management System and current trends in diabetes management. This position will be responsible for developing training materials and executing a medical education strategy both external professionals - endocrinologists, physicians, nurses, certified diabetes educators, Certified Pod Trainers (CPTs) and other medical professionals and for Insulet's internal clinical staff of Clinical Service Managers (CSMs).
Key responsibilities will include leading HCP educational initiatives including workshops, seminars, continuing medical education (CME) opportunities, journal clubs and developing a residency program. This position reports to the Director of Medical Affairs and will work closely with the Senior Manager of Medical Affairs and Education and the Patient Education Manager within the Medical Affairs team to co-development materials and ensure consistent educational materials are developed for patients and HCPs. This position will strategize and collaborate cross-functionally with Product Development and the Clinical and Sales Training teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive educational strategy for external HCPs and internal stakeholders including CSMs for Insulet's innovative product pipeline including the DASH platform, Omnipod Horizon, Omnipod U500 and U200 Systems.
- Develop creative multi-media training curriculum including on-line modules, slide decks and print collateral for DASH training that will effectively deliver educational messages to HCPs
- Assist in planning and leading in-person training events and WebEx seminars
- Develop a pilot residency training program for DASH as a platform for future pipeline product training programs
- Assist in development of Advisory Boards to gain insights to HCP training needs and gaps
- Work collaboratively with R&D and product development team to gain in-depth product knowledge
- Participate as a team member of the Omnipod Horizon core development team
- Understand and synthesize competitor HCL system HCP educational programs to inform Omnipod Horizon's HCP educational strategy and offerings
- Work collaboratively with external key opinion leaders (KOLs) and diabetes clinical experts in the development of training materials
- Work in close collaboration with the Clinical Manager, Sales Training and Clinical Business Director to ensure new hire training materials are updated as new HCP resources are rolled and to ensure up-to-date training of current CSMs
- Support MSL function as needed to providing presentation to HCPs on clinical data
- Collaborate with Commercial teams to update clinical content of current Insulet Speakers Bureau
- Strategize and develop new clinical content for Insulet Symposium and HCP presentations
Education and Experience
- Bachelors, Master's degree, or other graduate degree in an allied health profession with experience in a clinical setting managing diabetes and insulin pump patients and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) and medical education experience strongly preferred
- 5+ years of related experience at medical device or pharmaceutical company
- Extensive experience with the Omnipod® System, CSM experience preferred

Physical Requirements
- Billerica, MA or remote for ideal candidates
- Travel will vary based on business needs and may range up to 25%.
