JOB DESCRIPTION
Champion innovation at the intersection of technology and business, guiding cross-functional teams to deliver analytics products that drive real value.
As a Lead Data Scientist on the Commerce Payments product team, you’ll be driving data and analytics strategy, execution, and innovation for embedded payments solutions, including digital wallets and card-on-file in ecommerce. You will work closely with quad partners (Product, Technology, Operations, and Risk) to identify opportunities, deliver actionable insights, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Job Responsibilities
Develop and execute the analytics roadmap aligned with Commerce Payments’ business objectives
Champion a data-driven culture and promote analytics best practices across the team and quad partners
Collaborate with quad partners to understand business needs, define analytics requirements, and deliver impactful solutions
Communicate complex analytics concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders, influencing strategy and decision-making
Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced analytics solutions, including dashboards, predictive models, and reporting tools
Ensure analytics solutions are scalable, robust, and deliver measurable business value
Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing analytics team, fostering professional growth and collaboration
Oversee data quality, integrity, and governance for all analytics initiatives
Partner with Technology and Data teams to ensure secure, compliant, and efficient data management
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in payments analytics
Drive continuous improvement in analytics methodologies, tools, and processes
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or other applicable field, and 10 years of experience in an advanced analytics, product management, or related role
Experience managing analytics solutions and delivery within a complex organizational structure
Knowledge to effectively leverage common analytics tools and technologies such as SQL, Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex analytics concepts to stakeholders with varying levels of technical knowledge
Proficient using MS Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to provide insights, manage stakeholder expectations, influence decision-making at all levels
Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide cross-functional teams towards achieving common goals
Knowledge customer survey data and survey design; proven ability to drive insights from data to impact product and service strategy
Experience converting customer feedback into actionable opportunities for customer-facing employees
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Experience in the banking or financial services industry highly desired
Experience coaching product managers to grow their skills while maintaining a strong team culture
Experience leading across multiple product areas
